MCBS maintains a number of awards to recognise excellence in Cell Biology and Signalling. Details of the various awards and prizes are provided below:
MCBS Young Investigator Award
The Melbourne Cell Biology and Signalling Conference is pleased to announce an MCBS Young Investigator Award for an outstanding early career researcher who works on cell biology or biochemistry or signalling or cancer biology.
The awardee will be guaranteed a speaking slot at our inaugural meeting to be held on July 18th at La Trobe University, plus a cash prize. Eligible, applicants must be 7 years or less since completion of their PhD (letter from University). Career disruption
can be taken into account by the panel.
To apply, please send a 2 page CV and career disruption justification (if applicable) together with the abstract (less than 300 words) based on the work you would present at the meeting to S.Mathivanan@latrobe.edu.au (include MCBS YIA award in email subject) on or before 28/05/2019.
Please include your PhD award date in your CV, and combine it with your abstract into a single PDF file. The organizing committee will assess the applications and notify the candidates. The applicants need to meet the following criteria to be considered
by the panel.
1, The applicant registers for the 1st annual Melbourne Cell Biology and Signalling Conference by 28/05/2019
2, The applicant received her/his PhD on or before 7 years (as of 28/05/2019)
3, The applicant submits the relevant documents including CV and abstract
4, Two Referee reports in support of the applicant is sent to the chair (S.Mathivanan@latrobe.edu.au) on or before 28/05/2019
Best Oral Presentation
Among the talks selected from abstracts, one of the registrant will be presented with the "Best Oral Presentation" award. The MCBS young investigator will be excluded from the potential list of awardees. Preference will be
given to early career researchers.
Poster Awards
Several awards will be provided to the best posters!
